Buying retired and discontinued fiestaware is made pretty easy by simply visiting Ebay on the internet. All one has to do is type in the item you are looking for in the “search box” at the top of the page. You will usually see numerous pieces showing up being offered by sellers depending upon how rare the item is.
This method of trying to locate a missing or broken piece in your fiesta collection is a lot safer than one would think. Look for sellers that have had a lot of transactions, and maintain a near 100% customer satisfaction rating. After having purchased over 1,800 pieces in the last three years on Ebay…we can tell you that in almost every case you will have a beautifully boxed fiesta piece delivered in no time. Most sellers do this on Ebay for a living and cannot afford to get their “ticket” yanked by pulling fast ones on innocent buyers. Remember, as a buyer you have the option of writing a “review” of the transaction. Sellers must maintain
a great rating or they are pretty much out of business on Ebay.
If an item shipped comes to your front door “not as described.” …just email the seller a polite note explaining
the situation. Most sellers will correct the issue with no problem.
Remember, their “satisfaction” rating is critical to them staying on line and selling rare fiestaware. Keep this in mind..you have to act in good faith and not be unreasonable. Don’t become a cheater yourself and ruin a good thing for everybody.
Obviously, getting a fair and reasonable price is an important issue for any potential buyer. Do some research. Try “googling” the item and see what’s out there. If you don’t see a deal that interests you…go back to your search another time. Often times that “great deal” is just around the corner. Good luck! And don’t get addicted.
